Morgenstern’s descriptions throughout the novel are wonderful. The circus and all the various spells and locations that the circus visits are vividly bought to life, right down to scents.

I read the Night Circus in three days, with breaks in between, but I couldn’t wait to pick it up and start it again, and I am pleased that I read it.  It is a book with a wide range of appeal, and the writing within it is purely poetic (even I can’t do it justice!)

Circus girl

From the words to the art, I was amazed and simply blown away. I’m usually not into circus stories let alone one that takes place before the turn of the century, but The Night Circus draws you in with its supernatural charm that it’s easy to forget the time and get lost in its wondrous magic.

A cozy Circus

Some authors just know the right tone and method that best describes their story, best compliments it and brings it to life, like a dancer who knows whether a piece of music is best presented by a tap dance or a ballet. Erin Morgenstern has gotten it just right.
